Accurate first-derivative nonadiabatic couplings for the H3 system

A conical intersection exists between the ground ~1 2 A8) and the first-excited ~2 A8) electronic potential energy surfaces ~PESs! of the H3 system for C3v geometries. This intersection induces a geometric phase effect, an important factor in accurate quantum mechanical reactive scattering calculations, which at low energies can be performed using the ground PES only, together with appropriate ...

The requisite electronic structure theory to describe photoexcited nonadiabatic dynamics: nonadiabatic derivative couplings and diabatic electronic couplings.

Electronically photoexcited dynamics are complicated because there are so many different relaxation pathways: fluorescence, phosphorescence, radiationless decay, electon transfer, etc. In practice, to model photoexcited systems is a very difficult enterprise, requiring accurate and very efficient tools in both electronic structure theory and nonadiabatic chemical dynamics. Moreover, these theor...

Derivative Pricing, Numerical Methods

Numerical methods are needed for derivatives pricing in cases where analytic solutions are either unavailable or not easily computable. Examples of the former case include American-style options and most discretely observed path-dependent options. Examples of the latter type include the analytic formula for valuing continuously observed Asian options in [28], which is very hard to calculate for...

Numerical Methods for Fuzzy Linear Partial Differential Equations under new Definition for Derivative

In this paper difference methods to solve "fuzzy partial differential equations" (FPDE) such as fuzzy hyperbolic and fuzzy parabolic equations are considered. The existence of the solution and stability of the method are examined in detail. Finally examples are presented to show that the Hausdorff  distance between the exact solution and approximate solution tends to zero.
